Tim convinces the family that they need to take the law into their own hands. Amy and Ty bicker over the motorcycle with neither getting down to what is really troubling them. Jack retreats to his fishing cabin, but when he finds himself in danger it may be up to an old friend to save him. I wish we had a place like this in Vegas so I could ride everyday or work at. A guitar which used to belong to Lyndy — Jack's late wife and Marion's mother — is found and Jack finds something interesting in its case. With everyone's help, Amy frees the mustangs and gets Wes fired.
Lisa comes back from Europe and feels that there may be something between Jack and Val. But her choices may jeopardize her place with her sponsor. When she expresses this anger to Caleb, he kisses her and tells her that she thinks too much. Meanwhile, Lou Michelle Morgan comes home with a big decision to make, but news about Mitch Kevin McGarry steals her focus. The two kids, Tara and Badger, seem to be at the far end of the spectrum relative to Ty, starting off their stay by burning an at the dude ranch and putting peanut butter in the muffin Clint was eating -- knowing he was allergic to peanuts.
Lou reminisces about learning to ride on Sugarfoot when she was young, and singing to him with Mrs. Ty gets back on his bike and Caleb returns. Tim also brings Amy a roping horse with a fear of cattle for her to heal. Callie and Tim get in a fight, but get back together, and she takes him back to Big River, and finally out of Jack's hair. Miranda and Tim break up. Bell brings a butterfly in a jar to the grave at the Hanley farm where he was buried, and releases it in his memory. Having actually talked about their feelings, Ty gives Amy a helmet and they happily head out for a spin on the Norton.
Tim is still reeling from the knowledge that Shane is in fact his son but he finds himself bonding with the boy despite himself. Georgie goes on a fun date with Clay's cousin. During the night, a thunderstorm panics Cinders and he runs off while Jack and Lisa sleep. Ty and Jack are rescued. Tim feels like he missed out on his kids lives so he gives Georgie driving lessons, but it goes very badly and she later asks Ty for help.
Neither one of them were able to make the connection, though, as both used their first names - Peter and Samantha. Amy goes undercover to bring its abusers to justice. Jack lets Tim in the house during Amy's post-competition party. The characters were brilliant, there was not a single one I didn't like, which adds to its watchability. Scott unearths the horse's unusual past.
Jack asks Val about her deal with Tim, and she says there isn't one. Peter is being sued and is bankrupt. I don't find a single one of the human characters to be anyone I can identify with; I find them all genuinely dysfunctional. Looking to expand neighbouring ranch Briar Ridge, Val makes an offer to buy some of Jack's land, but Tim isn't so keen on the idea. Kit says she knew he could do it, though he struggled with Grade 12 Algebra. Caleb hitches his trailer to his truck, and tries to pull it away, but he and Ashley wind up laughing about it before she drives off with the other boy.
While watching rodeo videos Caleb and Ty manage to irritate Ashley and Amy with their testosterone poisoning and making plans to go to a rodeo in Montana together. Lou and Peter try to get Katie to sleep. Bell reminisces, and tells Mallory, about Thomas Ritter aka The Drifter , her first boyfriend. Its head and right foreleg get stuck while Scott tries to turn it, and the foal is. Lou and Amy find out that Miranda and Tim have been in a relationship for months. Everyone talks about the horses and the heartwarming tales.
This is the second time that Ghost shows up when Ty is in danger. The photographers get too close and spook Pegasus, dropping Mindy off his back, but causing stone bruises and a chipped bone for Pegasus. Lou feels torn, as she has started seeing Mark Rodriguez, to whom her father is becoming increasingly hostile, feeling that the constable is inept at his job of preventing livestock theft. Ty is offered a job at Briar Ridge even after Amy accidentally tells Ashley that Ty is on probation. It's just that some of the characters are comically unbelievable.
Ty's mom, Lily, unexpectedly comes to reconnect with him, surprising all. I agree with all of that. Tim is one such rancher, and he hires both Caleb and Ty to watch his herd. How many times is someone who should know better going to speed up to the corral and honk their horn? Mitch buys Lou a horse and she thinks that it is a sign about their relationship. Jack steps in to get Katie ready for the 1st Grade. Tim proposes to Janice to help him with the custody battle, and she accepts. While Amy works with curing the damaged horses, her sister Lou keeps the ranch running by advertising Amy's services, finding clients and trying to keep the ranch afloat financially.
